So im taking out the 4g93 from my lancer cause my *Richard Cranium* friend crashed it and im deciding what to do with it so i want the engine out to see what the damage is like. Anyway, for the people who have done this did you unbolt the cylinder block from the clutch/gearbox? or should i detach it from the diff and pull the whole thing out?

you detatch the drive shafts from the gbox and the loom + manifolds and pwr steering aircon alternator from the engine
then it can be lifted out on a diagonal angle and by keeping the gbox end lower than the other end while lifting out
no need to detatch the gbox
