02 CG body part swap to VRX 02

Hey Auslancers,
I had hoped search would be my friend but unfortunately not :(
I have a 02 CG Lancer and needed parts to be replaced, which are the bumper, passenger doors due to bad cosmetic damage.
So as i searched and called around for replacement parts i came across a guy getting rid of the a 02 VRX for parts. Long story short he offered the car for dirt cheap as whole. I could repair it but i don't feel to confident so I'll strip it for parts.

Now what i want your advice on is:
How much is interchangeable with the body ?? Direct bolt on ?
I searched on here that the springs and sway bar are a direct swap and so are the wheels.

Is there anything else i should take from it ?

After I've taken what i needed I'll sell it off to the wreckers unless some of you are interested in taking it
 
So long as they are both CG's, there shouldn't be any issues.

I'd do it, get the nicer trims and options if your current one is a bland stocker.

Ok awesome !! Do you know of any engine or other performance upgrades then that i can take from the VRX ?

Thanks man it all looks pretty good, let me know of any key things to take in terms of performance. The interior though looks pretty bad but I'll take whatever will be good
 
I get confused between the two. Got any pictures of the car? I could tell from the picture of engine bay etc.

I think they have a front strut brace which you should take, possible rear sway bar... But don't know so much. Lower suspension too I think
 
Oh yeah, it probably has sideskirts, front lip and foglights??? Definitely worth stealing all those
 
Yea man the whole lot! My misses likes the dash, so that might get swapped too.

Ive never delt with cars only motorbikes so I'm a bit nervous on how I'll go..
any tips would be great or even a hand I'm based in Sydney

Have a look around the DIY section(s) even if theyre not from the same Generation of lancer, they'll explain enough about taking things apart. I know theres a dash on - in the climate control thread.

Also, if you have the chance pick up a Gregory's or Hayne's Sercive manual for the CG. It will literally tell you what size screw and bolt everything is and even how many torques to put it back together.
 
As long as the bodies look the same. They still made the CE coupe up to 2004 which came in vrx trim also. Just make sure they're both CGs and you should be sweet. Engines will be identical so not really anything you can score from there. But black interior, and vrx kit would be straight swap. The vrx Springs were slightly lower, nothing special though. Also unsure if it came with rear sway bar and front strut brace but if it does grab them. Also dash and cluster will be straight swap.
