7' apple car play

I have a 2005 ch es lancer 2L
I would like to have a 7' alpine apple car play touch screen installed.
Can this be done? Because I noticed my tj magna and my old ce 2002 lancer sedan had that big gap under the headunit which would make room for a touch screen to fit in

But these ch lancer don't have that. Would I have to have it custom fitted and professionaly installed?

I have seen kits on ebay that look like this;

Im not sure of whats involved to install them as the AC controls have to be relocated but i have found loads of pics on google images so surely it cant be that hard :p
 
Ha Ha It wouldn't fit in your car take up more space than the whole dash. 7'= 7 feet perhaps you meant 7'' inches.:blush:
 
Ebay has double din kits. They relocate the ac controls.... above....? Don't remember.
But they are kinda expensive. That's what you're looking for though

Here is a link below to the full fitting kit (includes everything you need) My orig factory cd/radio died last week finally, so i will be ordering a kit in the next few days as i want a double din as well, finished should look same as your pic.

Oh and the fitting instructions are on same auction as well, so worth a look.

Cost is aprox $85.00 AU (on the auction it shows shipping as $79.99 US (aprox $112.88 AU) which i think is a tad expensive to say the least as the weight and carton size should come in a bit cheaper than that i think.

They will ship it to anywhere in the US for free, so i can send it to my LA address and get some prices to forward it to Australia via USPS (hopefully it will be cheaper then $112.88 ?)

Ralliartkid, there are a few on ebay, look similar kit's different seller/postage costs (except one seller gives you harness/air con stickers) the other gives you brackets ? prob same quality , not sure.

Link above is cheaper and has free postage to AUS, wiring harness would be only outlay, don't know which is better quality of the two, anyone's guess.

As for install, instructions are on the link i sent you on orig reply, read them, they said you can use the orig brackets in the fitting instructions ??

if you think you are competent enough give it a go, nothing to lose.
 
It makes me glad that I got a 2 din setup in my CH from stock. I've removed the stock unit and replaced it with an Alpine unit, however it's not a touch screen version like the one you are looking at.

BTW, ebay has a 10% off deal going at the moment for over $100 for anything so it would be worth moving on it now to save some $$.
