Strut brace question

I am finding that my ultra racing 3pt (now 2pt) front strut brace hits the bonnet when I close :( should have checked this before painting it as nice as there are a few chips in it now. Has anyone had this issue? The bonnet still closes with a hard slam.
 
i believe someone on MLGA used to have this problem

they put washers uder their bonnet hinges to raise the back of the bonnet slightly to clear it

other than that, maybe put some foam on the bonnet so it dousnt contact bare metal to metal
 
Yea I remember reading that somewhere, putting washers under the bonnet hinges to raise it ever so slightly.
If you can still close it with a slam it must only be JUST hitting right? So do that and also what res said, a strip of foam or rubber under the bonnet to protect it.
 
i think ill just sell it.....its made me angry which has brought an evil zen upon it
 
if it was me I'd do the washers... If you'd like i'll direct swap you?
 
if you have this problem it is because you are using a strut brace based off a sedan chassis on on your 2door.
ive had this issue before when using a large type evo strut brace on a mirage. the bonnet could not close properly.
I used a cutting disc to cut material away from the bonnet skeleton and a grinder to clean it up

problem solved.

btw. the proper ultra racing 2pt does not have this issue.
