Hey guys, I'm shopping around for springs to lower my car, at a budget. I'll probably replace them in a year or so with some $$$$ ones but for the time being i was wondering if i could get any suggestions for some okish budget springs?
I'm only looking to lower it 3-3.5 cm, any more and i might scrape the front end getting the car on the ferry (i live on an island now xD)

King Springs....

eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mitsubishi-L ... 096wt_1139
$280, which is about correct.

Have a look at the King Spring catalogue:

Lows drop you about 30-35mm and SuperLows are 40-45mm.

Stick with Lows, they are good, cheap and easy to install (if you have a moderate amount of skill).

Took me 4-hours alone (with a fair few breaks), but I have all the necessary tools; jacks/stands/spring compressors/torque wrench etc...

Kings Superlows. With lows on a CH you can hardly even tell the difference.

hehe... thought as much.

Thanks BI65ND.

I have low fronts and superlow rears... I wanted the dead flat look, rather than the raised rear = which is normal these days in cars.

Kings look awesome, might have to check the ramp height on the barge to see if i can get away with superlows :p But i'll probably stick with lows as i'll be adding more external parts to the car next year :)

hmmm... if you're talking like the barge to the Bay Islands, then I would say don't... my car cannot go to Russell Island at low tide, not by a long shot!

OK I went and did some maths. I can get away with sl on front and l on rears, as long as its not a super low tide i can still get my car on the barge when need be :D
The plan is to go for king springs, then upgrade again when im ready to do the exhaust system and intake. Are there any particular sports suspension sets that i should take a look ar when im ready to get them early next year?

To a point. Suspension has always been my weak point with car knowlege :S Hence why im posting here because im clueless and i need help :p
Will i need new shocks with the king springs or can i do that later down the line?

Depends how many KM's you've done on the current shocks. Lowered springs will shorten their life considerably.

If you can't afford decent springs now, maybe it's worth saving up so you can just do decent shocks+springs/coilovers later on instead of spending a bit now, and even more later?

Do it right, and do it once.

I think i will wait it out and get the whole set done, the springs probably will need replacing by then too. Cheers :D

why would you want SL's on the front and L's on the rear? You're front is going to be low (engine weight), while the back will be high (no weight in the rear)??? unless you are after that look of course....

to make the car even out and low, go either SL's front, SSL's rear........or L's front, SL's rear.....or simply put some L's in the rear and standard in front......I have some L's for sale on ebay or they only cost about $140 from a shop....
