Hey guys just wondering if any of use have experienced this noise at idle is like a shuttering noise from the passenger side (sounds like a helicopter lol) then when i turn the steering it goes away and the noise transfers to the drivers side but not as loud then i when i take off and drive the noise is gone anyone ever experienced this noise or might know what it is?

Manual or auto mate? If its a manual sounds like the carrier bearings have let go on the input shaft, very common problem for ce Lancers unfortunately....

its a manual but how can this noise go away when i turn the steering and the noise transfers to the drivers side of the car

i was thinking wheel bearings when you said it goes away when turning but if its at idle as well wont be that

i was thinking maybe one of the power steering belts is rubbing somewhere or something still could be a gearbox noise tho im not really fussed as its just a noise i jst would like to no what it is or if any1 else has had this problem

think i found the noisy pretty sure its coming from the bonnet because as soon as i hear the noise everytime i pop the bonnet it goes away then when i close it it starts again and there is marks in my bonnet from were the stops are maybe they need adjusting??

There are some noise coming from my engine bay and when i pop up the hood, it's gone. So I try to tightened everything and checked every rubber and I found that the 2 rubbers in between of my headlights and the hood (that is supporting the hood) sit too low.

There are 2 rubbers that support the bonnet when you close it. One each on top of the headlights.Try adjusting it so the rubbers sit higher.

Give it a try

If you want photos, I can supply them.

and make sure you have both of the rubbers equally height or else the sound will not disappear. Hope that is the real problem.
