Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum and new to cars in general as I have now got my reds and just bought my first car.
I have a blue 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer CE GLi 4 Door Sedan and I am looking at making it look a bit more 'me'. I'm thinking of going 17's and something in this style:

Can anyone help me out with things to look for and use as a guide such as:
- Measurements
- Size
- Rough estimated cost with changing the profile of my tyres.

All help would be great :D :D
Cheers.

hey mate, welcome

them wheels are fairly common now, 17'' is to small for a ce so maybe look at 18 or 19 inch rims

You'll want a 4 stud rim with a PCD of 100 (for sedans)

I wouldn't go bigger than 16" personally (because I prefer the look), but 18" has been proven to fit.

my 7.5 wide rims rub on the rails so dont go bigger than that

Firstly, welcome to AusLancer.

Secondly, the wheels you linked come in 5 stud with a PCD of 114 and 120mm. You will need 4 stud @ 100mm PCD (pitch circle diameter - the size of a circle that would pass through all four holes)

I have 17x8s on mine and it fits nicely with no guard scraping (i scrape a little on large holes but that's because its lowered, something I suggest doing)

Cost can vary quite a bit depending on your rims + whatever brand of rubber you want, I haven't bought very many and frankly have no idea. Other guys will have a good clue tho.

17's would be fine. Can have a few issues with 18-19 but if your not worried go for it. Personally i would go with 17's.

Tire size will be around 215/40/R17.

Cost will vary of course but most places have decent 17" wheel and tire packages from around $1200 to $1800.

I read that Harry beats Voldemort.

Mine are 100's and wagon is same as sedan.

OP. just grab your tape measure out and measure the distance between the center of 2 opposite wheel nuts. Thats the PCD you need.

PCD:4x100
diamters: 15"-18"
width: 6-7" (for beginners, if it was me, id be going 8")
offset: what ever the wheels are (again, for beginners. if it was me...its would be around the +20 mark)
tyres: 205 or 215 to suit the wheel diamters.
style: whatever floats your boat.

if that is all chinese to you, then just go to your local tyre shop. they'll sort you out. should be abound $1500ish with good tyres. maybe less

Thanks everyone for your help and I will keep looking around...

the only thing really stopping me is mum but i can sort that out.

Your on your P's so hardly any points and and you will stand out more to police..
I'd go whatever is legal in whatever state your in . So legal rim width and diametre and the right load rated tyre.

As for offest most I think are 35-40 if someone can confirm this?

Also factor in insurance issues if on full comp and the fact once you get 17's you will want to lower it as it will be jacked up.

^ horrible example of an S14

i would stick with 17" X 7"s with a 205/40 or a 215/40 tire probably the most common size for lancers in general, i had 17"s on my CH which is bigger than a CE overall and it looked fine, no need to go bigger.

i used to had a 17's on my 2 dr ce!! but now run on 18's with 7.5' with 215/35 no scrubs at all plus i like the look off the car better on 18's " my personal point of view" but 17" still looks good, plus u can low ur car to bs too! lol

Stop advertising Tempe for anything but wheels.

Next person to mention a tyre package from them gets a slap in the head.
