Piggy Back ECU

I've noticed a Piggy Back ECU available on the RRM website. Claims large performance gains short of turbo-charging. Anyone know whether it's worth the cash or whether they even work at all? :/

wouldn't expect anything more than 5% from remapping alone.

I made 15% but that was with full exhaust, CAI/freer filter and remapping.

yeah agreed wont be that much, will prob just adjust your fuel to air mix ratio

From what I've previously read, it works for a near stock engine with slight mods. Keep it mind though it is designed for US 4g69's which have more emissions *poo* built into them so, depending on if they have made an AUS version or not it may not be worth while. Maybe a SAFC and tune would be able to do about the same and then it is set up for your car and not a generic tune.

I've have also not been getting the best fuel economy. Will this help? (My right foot may have be to blame though)

try resetting the ECU (disconnect battery for 10 mins) then drive easy for a week.. if your fuel economy does not return to previous expectations, then you might need to do some further investigations..

Just a thought.

you don't have to, if you're happy to keep the fuel up to it...!

Your choice ultimately.

Ive been getting about 300-350km on a tank in the city. My driving isnt as economical as it could be though

wow, the CJ 2.0 auto is getting around 420-450 around town... and that is a heavy car putting out the same power as the CH 2.4

The figure I gave you was rough and it's prob a bit more. I get about that much to the fuel light but only put about 35L in.

your consumption figures sound okay then, if that is what you're putting in versus what you get... 10km/l in city traffic type drives is high but acceptable. Many cars use 10litres for 100km... Mine around city (stop/start) is somewhere around 8.9l/100km or 7.2l/100km for highway cycle.
