How guys thought bout painting my door frames this weekend and just want tips on how to do it the PROPER way..
If youz can answer some of these questions would be alot of help and much appreciated..

So exactly what grits of sand paper should I be using..?
Is 3m paint or VHT paint spray cans good enough..?

IF youz can supply a quick step by step instructions on how to do it right, would be much appreciated, cheers..

As far as I know it'll crack eventually, needa use 2k and prep it properly for a good finish.

probably 800 grit if that no lower.

Stolen from another forum although his were already black but some deal.

You wont get a 2 pac proper finish with gloss spray can but still come up decent.. Make sure can is warm to and shaken properly otherwise be spitting.

Cheers mate, thanks heapz.. Ive been wondering, sorry to be asking if itz a stupid question.. But when U say by 2 pac paint, is dat the sort of paint done through a compressor and a gravity feed gun..?..

sorry I read door trims, not frames!. Not sure on frames mate.

and yeah 2k is shot out of a gun, needs hardener in it so can't be pressure packed.

Ahh k cheers mate, when doing the frames should I be sanding down to bare metal or nahh..?..

I don't think that's necessary. As niceas said 800grit should be fine. I think for primer to bite its ~400grit and for sanding down the primer its 800grit before spraying.

I used less then 800 grit on some of my car although with sander and it was to much..

800 should be sweet and maybe 1200/1500 wet n dry paper just wet the paper and surface it will grip to start with then the primer will become smooth you will feel it when sanding you wont need to alot of pressure do it by hand.

Dont worry about taking it to bare metal just make sure primer is smooth being black will show imperfections.
