just got a 1997 ce cilver lancer gli giving to me for the misses it has a phew things wrong

but at the moments i have no brake lights at all???
ive checked the fuses (under the hood, drivers foot well) but none have blown is there a relay somewhere for this??
please help! its driving me insane

wanna rewrite that with some proper English and grammar?

but your saying no brake lights?

checked bulbs?
all fuses?
checked the on/off switch on the peddle?
checked the relays with a voltmeter?

yer yer its been a long day...
sorry...

where would i find the relay for this mate?

And yes checked fuses an globes but all four are out so I figured it was something bigger then just globes

off the top of my head, cant recall, probs in the fuse box, or under the dash

If your brake lights come on when you put your lights on at night, but when u brake they dont become brighter, than its very likely its your brake light switch which makes contact with your brake pedal. Also i had a similar problem, my brake lights would not work because the retard i bought it from had the incorrect bulbs, hence they blew, check the bulbs even if they looks fine change them and see what happens.
One last suggestion, get a little circuit tester (those pens which light up when theres power) and touch the tip of the connection with the bulb removed, whilst someone presses the brake pedal, if the pen lights up you have power running through the wires, so its a bulb issue

Probably brake switch. All being out seems too suss. Same thing happened to my old falcon.

Easiest way is firstly check fuses, then unplug your brake switch and bridge the 2 terminals that should bring on your lights if not you have a wiring issue from the plug to lights or bulbs are gone, if bridging it does bring on your lights then its your brake switch and you'll find they dont have a relay for your brakes

There was a time when I had to put a new brake bulb in my mates car. We found that if you put it in the wrong way, the brake wont work, only when the lights are on, but if you switched it 180 degrees to the right way, it worked normally.

Possibly the same thing?

this happens alot, sometimes people put a double filement globe in a single filement holder, and the parkers come on when you brake.
