Location of fog light switch (VRX)

Hey guys,

I'm wondering where is the switch for the factory fitted fog-lights???

I've tried snooping online photos but there isn't really anything close-up enough

Is it a toggle button, or an extra element on the headlight stalk?
Reason is I just bought a fog light kit and wanted to make it look as OEM as possible.

Cheers,
Tom.

there will be two areas just to the right of the cluster (speedo and that).

the top black thingy is an alcove sorta thing that you can remove and the switch fits into that.
The lower part (with the red LED security light) is the cover for the power mirrors switch.

The location all depends on what model vex you got? What lancer do you have?

Its in the CG-CH section so it's one of those I am going to assume...

My bad didn't see that, well then I'm to only assume it is just to the right of the wheel. I have acd there but it should be free on a lancer

Hey man, have a look in my thread, or in Jeffaz's thread, we shold have an image in there for you. Also it goes next to the roller thingy for the dash's brightness. Hope this helps ;)

Yeah I should've stated 2004-2007 CH. Not to worry :D

Let me clarify what I'm asking:
I have a 07 Velocity (ES) which doesn't have foglights.
I bought ebay fog lights, they came with all wiring harness, etc.
I want to put the button which was supplied in the kit in the right spot
So I'm asking is anyone who has a CH VR-X, which (as far as I know) came with foglights standard,
Where does that switch go?????

Down next to the dash brightness controller or higher, up next to the power window controller???
Like this...

Ok up the top would answer a lot of un answered questions I had. Ok yes it'd genuinly go up the top. BUT with some careful work it will go down next to illumination roll. And there is already a slot there, but for the top one you'll have to get a panel off a vrx which could be.troublesome

i dont have a vrx.. just a standard ch es.. i also bought a fog light kit off ebay.. i did a little bit of filing to the hole next to the dimmer roller to fit mine in, it was the easiest option imo.. heres some piccy's :D

By the looks of the switch, we probably have the same kit haha I think that will be the easiest way.
Does yours have a plug on the wire about 20cm down from the switch, with just a yellow wire running to it?? I'm struggling to find where it goes...help? haha The instructions aren't fabulous!

I'm aware of that. The double din stereo one is a VRX. The point of the pictures was to show the difference between a VRX dash and an ES dash, the latter of which is like mine. There is a plug up next to the mirror controller, but I don't know what it does. That's why I'm asking - is that where the fog light switch goes.

I think I'll just go for next to the dash light controller :)

Ahhhhh you guys have a similar kit to mine. that yellow wire is power to the switch. but i couldnt get mine to work so i integrated it into the factory foglight wiring. and used an oem switch. works like oem

Okay my plug has four wires coming out of it (two yellow, a blue, a black), but the two yellow get joined together to form one so technically 3 wires..
Black to earth obviously.
Blue is to the relay.
Yellow is where you want your lights to be triggered from.

I think from factory the lights are active from accessories, meaning you can have them on at any time.
In my case i wanted them to come on when i turned on my parking lights. (yes im one of those annoying people who drive with both them and normal beam on)
If you wish to do the same.
Remove the little tray thing to give you a view of the fuse box, connect your yellow wire to the Green wire with white stripe.

Hope this helps.. Sorry for the *poo* photos, it was taken on my phone with a torch lol.

Yeah, I only want to be able to have them on with parkers so your instructions are perfect for me (same plug, wiring), unless I can find a home for my other plug in the OEM loom once jeffaz gets back to me :)

What are you talking about, these photos are awesome! Thanks so much for those. Made everything a lot clearer.

Remove the two screws from the top of the instrument cluster surround, gently pull on the bottom or the surround to remove. Gently pull out the little pannel to the right which houses your power mirror switch, attached to the back next to the power mirror switch should be the factory fog light wiring. :)
