Key barrel replacement

I know you have all talked about key barrels and keys needing to be linked to the ecu my problem is we tried to put new barrel in and found that car wouldn't start as per ECU link. We have put the old barrel back in but now the car still wont start. Any ideas??

if its a cc lancer then they don't have a chip in the key and immobiliser unless after market. so I would say the key and barrel and not causing the issue. the ecu in these cars are all the same.
if you switched you ecu switch it back and see what happens. if that don't work double check all the things you may of moved or changed for loose connections, or disconnected earth wires around ecu.
