Hey guys im interested in purchasing a rear sway bar and front strut brace for my MR cause it rolls quite a bit when cornering (not as much since lowering), and would like to know which brands for each components are the best or decent, so far i just seem to see "Whiteline" for both and some cheapy ones on ebay

The front of the car is lowered on superlow king springs incase anyone asks

whiteline adjustable rear swaybar all the way... absolutely awsome handling mod
i havent seen any other brand that has their swaybars setup as adjustable for the CE, so i recomend whiteline, can be soft- medium- or race stiff as fk
i have 1 and its the bomb

there are front and rear strutbrace packs on ebay.us for $110 landed in aus, i have a set, the rear one is great with the rear swaybar, really holds the back solid, even with stock shocks and springs in the abck of mine the rear is still far stiffer and far more straight and solid round corners than the front which has lowered units and front strutty

i recon the ebay.us $110 brace pack is great for CE's that dont wanna go hardcore
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mits-Mirage- ... 4840b8381a

if your going hardcore then ULTRA racing braces (solid 1 piece braces) are what you want, but they come with a large price tag in comparison to cheap entry level ebay ones

personally, i would buy the ebay $110 set if i were u, cos the rear is great in that pack, and then if u find the front not stiff enuf then u can always upgrade, they ebays are too cheap to go past as a 1st test option

/end long speach about y cheap ebay braces are worth a go

pics installed
this here- whiteline rear swaybar set medium stiffness painted anodised red by myself

Thanks resuliac! Cause ive seen RPW selling the front strut brace for $159 but thats not including gst or postage and ive seen on ebay whiteline front strut brace bars for $194 and sway bars prived similarly but ill definately look at the ones from the US now thanks!

ill have to have a look but i dont know if i can change the setting on mine

just a quick question relating to this:

The mirage (like the lancer) doesnt come with a rear sway bar. The kit from whiteline is $349 for the bar, and $101 for the mounting kit.
Is it possible for the mounting kit to be made up by a handy person with a welder? & is this around what you paid for it (res)?

Talk to hens. I'm getting my one for the mirage through him and its not nearly that much

i got mine for $100 for everything an age and a half ago so i cant complain :p
i wouldnt attampt the mount kit on your own man, for 1 they geometry is set up specifically in the kit so that it works and 2 you would need to buy the 6 bushings and 2linkages anyway which would cost near to $70 anyway

as above talk to hens, i dont know what his price is but $450 all up seems a bit much to me

obviously adjustable sway is great but in reality any rear swaybar will be better than none, use some googles and u might find a cheaper option like CUSCO or ULTRA racing

Also check your front swaybar bushes as these cars being older now they can be shagged out quite a bit. I did mine 2 years back and they made it feel better also.

link to where front swaybar bushes are sold matty? i might buy a set

Mounts have Nolathane bushes, these would melt under any welding onto chassis...which would also be silly, as you have to change bushes at some point when they wear...

They bolt on for that exact purpose.

Wouldn't try to make the mounts themselves, let's face it, they fit perfectly the bushes they are designed to hold..making them yourself would lead to either premature failure of the mount, bush or worse...

Save longer if money is a factor for IMPORTANT and VITAL components...

Just my 2c

Mirage may be slightly different due to floor pan an exhaust.

As for front bushes Mitsu is where I got mine, they weren't that badly priced. Or you can go aftermarket nolathane from pedders probably. Although new rubber ones are fine from Mitsu.

Hi ,

Just thought we may pop in and answer some questions save confusion.

These prices you quoted are a bit out due to the sway bar comes with the full kit so no need to buy mounting kit and why it is a bit more than it use to be.

Also these are full retail prices as we are the wholesaler we cannot sell for less than that as we have re- sellers everywhere and with shopping around you would get these allot cheaper just click where to buy at the top of our website and select your area and a list of sellers will appear or try any leading Auto Parts store in Australia.

Also there are seperate part numbers for the Mirage and Lancer as the bar is shaped different on either car but the mounting kit is the same.

Quote these numbers to where you shop for pricing

Lancer CE = BMR51Z

Mirage CE =BMR54Z

any further queries and for a faster reply email us at support@whiteline.com.au

Ohhhh whiteline rep. Cool

Any chance you know of a kit for the Lancer wagon, Chassis CB5W??

orly josh?

i would agree with u on the Whiteline adjustable rear swaybar and W-ALK,
they are both great products that no other company has done better for the CE's (besides cusco mayabe, i think they may have an almost identical adjustable rear and front sway, just need to find it in their catelog)

but for strut braces i would never buy from whiteline knowing that i could get a solid Ultra brace for the same cost, or 2x ripp off braces for half the price of 1 of thiers

i think they are over-priced in that region, but the sway and walk are well worth buying off them
