Hey guys!
Ive been searching on the web and forum but havent been able to find the answer to my issue so my apologies if this has been posted and please excuse me for my poor search skills.
Basically, my car is a Manual transmission Lancer CE coupe has had 200,000kms on it and had timing belt changed about 40,000kms ago. I bought it second hand about 3 months ago and I noticed this issue the moment i took it off the guys hands.
During acceleration, the car has a half a second hesitation at about 1.8k RPM and from that point onward it accelerates quite smoothly. Even prior to 1.8K RPM its pretty smooth.
Essentially this only happens if my foot is on the throttle a tiny bit more, i.e when im overtaking. It doesnt happen or is alot less noticeable when Im pretty light on the throttle during acceleration past 1.8K RPM.
It doesnt happen on every occasion aswell and sometimes i try to trigger it but it wont happen haha. Seems to be when im on the 1K mark accelerating up, itll just skip/hesitate slightly for a 0.5-1 second on the way up and theres a very slight power cut which carries on as it passes this RPM.
There is also one other issue (now that i remember) which is that there is a rattle coming from the transmission area (I assume, as ive lifted up the bonnet to check it many times now) which goes away when the clutch is depressed and noticeable when the car is warm and the clutch pedal is NOT depressed. I cant hear it when the car is cold aswell. Ive read so many different people commenting on this issue but havent come to any conclusion yet as to how bad that really is. I typically stop with the clutch depressed and the car in first gear and braking so its not something i noticed still i started parking in the garage and the sound really radiated off the walls.
If anyone has experienced this issue or could tell me anything that i could do to investigate further, id appreciate it!
