Engine Help - Throttle body/injectors

when they took my turbo off, some loose tubing was still on the throttle body and so i didnt take much notice of it, the car ran fine. There was this tube coming out of the throttle body that was sucking in air pretty hard, but i didnt know what it was and since car was fine i left it.

anyways, when i got the car serviced, the mechanic covered up the tube, by connecting a tube from the injectors to the throttle body, (he only had a T intersection tube left over from turbo so he used that and covered the T part with a bolt.

My car was really hard to start, and it wont idle until its been running for about 5 minutes, but as soon as i take off the tube and let the air suck in, the car will rin fine almost immediately..

I tested this again, by starting the car with it off, and putting my finger over the hole, and the revs would drop off a few hundred RPM. if the engine was cold enough, it would drop off till it stalled.

2 questions, what the hell is it? and does it / is it supposed to be covered / connected to the injectors and throttle body.

here is a pic:

The circles are what im talking about, the bolt in the tube to stop air getting in, and where the piping is connected.

And finally one last problem, when i fully lock my steering wheel left or right, my revs drop by about 100rpm... :/ that to me seems like a real big problem.

Can't really tell from the pics where everything is going, but seems like a vaccum and fuel pressure reg issue.

The tube coming off the reg should connect the the throttle body

thanks, do you know where i can get detailed pictures to see how the tubing is connected. i couldnt find it in the 4g93 manual. orcif possible are you able to take a pic or yours?

just had a look at my engine set up and there is nothing in that top threaded hole on chamber and with the lower regulator the top pipe goes straight to the chamber just under that threaded hole you have in pic. there are no T connectors plus i don,t know what that larger pipe you have with the brass fitting as mine doesn,t have this atall.

Oh yep, sorry, the circle was talking about the tube, not the threaded hole :p

umm the t intersection had something to do with the turbo, but that has now gone, so you are saying its basically a single piece of tube from the throttle body to the injectors? i.e tube from 1st picture top circle, to 2nd picture circle? and no air in being sucked in?

i also noticed that the tube that my throttle cable is held in has a small thin plastic tube that was connected to the brass thing on the t intersectiion, i removed it with no problems to engine but dnno what it was for. sorry no pic.

Oh and with PS problem, did some research and its normal, cause engine is used to power the steering, so under load at idle, the revs will drop similar to putting lights on and off at idle. HOWEVER normailly there is a component that realises the engine is under stress and increases revs, idle sensor maybe :/ might need replacing.

in pic 1 top right circle , that black smaller hose just under the red circle is connected to the chamber ? if so thats good. now in pic 2 of the diaphram this black hose is the one that goes to the chamber as mentioned [ pic 1 top right circle ] under this diaphram is another hode line that goes around to the back of engine and down to where ever i don,t know . i would say that other T- piece that is connected to the black hose going to chamber should not be there so try joining these 2 hoses with a straight piece of tube and then block off that other T so it goes knowhere. still like to know what that larger black hose line with the brass fitting is for.
