What you will need:

Pliers
10mm socket or spanner

Start off by disconnecting all of the plugs and connectors in the boot such as the license plate light holders, spoiler light cable (if you have one) and all of the cable holder plugs. These are easily removed with pliers. For the license plate light holders twist them around until they can be pulled out.

One of the cable holder plugs that has been pulled out.

Once all of that is done pull the cable loom out of the boot lid.

To remove the boot latch two things will need to be removed first. The first one is a rod that is connected to the lock.

Push the yellow clip around so that it no longer holds onto the rod and then pull the rod to release the end bit from the lock.

The second thing that needs to be removed is the boot release cable. This is found on the boot latch and can be removed by using needle nose pliers to maneuver it out of the latch.

The boot latch can now be removed by undoing the two bolts that hold it on with the 10mm socket or spanner.

Now this is where a friend comes in handy. Remove the four bolts (two on either side) of the boot that hold the boot lid to the arms. Having a friend hold one side of the boot will make this much easier.

Now pull the boot off and you are done. If you are swapping to another style of boot the rod for the lock will need to be modified to work. Now do these instructions in reverse to the put the boot lid back on.
