did you manage to work out a solution or find an answer to this???

Give it a weekend and I should have the ciggy lighter answer for you. Clock I believe involves removing pannels around it... though I haven't bother changing since it's the theme I want.

ok. i did it about 2 weeks agoe.
for aircon cluster:
1. pull of the aircon knobs, there should be screws underneath
2. undo those screws and keep track of what ones they are.
3. put your hand through the gap in the top of the glove box to that pane of trim and push, be farely forceful because its only held on be clips and should just push out.
3. underneath is a sort of plastic thing that has the buttons on it, there are i think 2 screws on it?? its fairly obvious so unscrew those and take off the plastic thing
4. then there is a clear plasic bit where you unscrew it (screws i think are in the corner of that white bit) and take that off.
5. now you have access to the LEDs. you can either take them out and switch them or do what i did and get one of those rubber condoms from autopro that changers the colour.
6. put everything back together and enjoy :D

cig lighter:
1.first unscrew the rear centre console bit (the bit with cupholders) then pull upwards from where that trim part meets with the part next to the gear stick.
2. there should be 2 screws now just near where the trim part we took off was clipped, on the base of the next one, next o the wiring loom. undo those and as for al screws, keep track of what is which.
3. theres a plastic push in screw on the drivers footwell. push the middle bit in with a screwdriver and then it should be easily able to be pulled out.
4. this is hard to describe this part... uhhh... in the passenger footwell, (this is from if you were facing it from standing at the passenger door)
there is this seperate peice of plastic that you have to pull out on the faaar left of this centre trim. feel ffree to pull it farely hard as it only is held by clips.
5. once that is off there are some screw things similar to the one of the drivers side footwell.
7. now pull out the ashtray and undo that screw underneath.
6. if you want to, you can take off your gear knob, but you dont have to, just makes it a bit more difficult.
7. ok now pull off your trim over your gearstick if you took the knob off or just angle it upwards (i leant it on the handbrake and it helps to unplug the loom next to the screws in step 2
you shoul have access to the plugs under the cig lighter now.
8. find out which plug is the led (it twists out rather than pulls)
9. you can now either replace the led on it or use a condom like i did
10. the ashtray light is easy to do as it is he only plug there.
11. put everything back together in reverse of how you took it apart and youre set :D

enjoy

i did a DIY on removing interior. Go check it out in the cg/h diy section.

Sorry if I missed it but did you mention what size LED globes they were? I also wish to change my other lights to red

Cluster are Different all together (not wedge), i'll get a picture for you, i've got bout 5 from mitsu.

hey treas92....I did this last night...it was a pretty quick and simple task.....$4 for 5 "red condoms" from AutoBarn...you will only need the 4....cig lighter, ash tray, 2 for the dials....

looks good and matches the instument cluster now - the only thing is that now the air con colours aren't visible (blue, white, red)...they are just now all red....

Hi there just want to know is there a way to change the colour of the lights in the cluster? If so an tips on how to do it? Thanks

Same as CC's CE's i presume, pull the cluster out, then replace the "ILL" or "ILLUM" light bulbs with bulbs of your choice, [strike]they are most likely T5s or T10s[/strike]

EDIT: Thanks skip, it appears they are wedge bulbs.

NO!

They are wedge bulbs, trust me. I've already tried, you'll need to order custom ones already in the mountings.

I absolutely hated the fact that everything illuminated red in my ch so i set out to change it.. i just replaced my aircon controls and ash tray light with white LED's.. as for the cluster, it was a little more tricky. I took my original bulbs with me to an autoshop near where i live and the guy tried to pull the bulb out of its housing and snapped it.. mitsubishi wanted $6 per bulb and i wasnt going to pay that so i bought some LED's and wired them into the original housings. At first i used plain clear (white) LED's but the light was too direct and left bright and dull patches in the dash, so i ordered some smd LED's off ebay.. piccy's below :D (its an alternative option to using the bulb condoms)

The cluster is easy , I just bought blue Smd globes off eBay for about $20 that where made to just twist into place , was a quick simple swap, what sort of globes do I need to change the aircon and dash lights ?

I removed the cigarette lighter wiring to get access to the bulb at ease however I didnt take notice of where the ground and power wires go. Is the outer terminal negative and inner one positive or vice versa?
Can someone confirm if my markings on the following image are correct?
