Ch lancer 2.4l on track?

Can some share their experience when taking their CH 2.4 lancers to the track? I know it varies based on mods, but I am interested to know about the driver feel on the road when compared to a late 90's car? Or evo?

Does it have so much assist that it kills the thrill in driving it compared to a much older car?

Hey bro, mate of mine entered his 2.4 ch into the nugget nationals enduro race; he had zero issues at all. Just some basic coilovers. Would probably be worth making sure the cooling system is up to scratch along with basic maintenance. They can go into 'limp mode' as limited by the ECU if intake and engine temps get too high, but I'm talking 40 degrees plus. These are robust engines if you take care of them. At the end of the day they only have power steering as the main influence, that and ABS I believe?

My CE with a 1.5 has kept up with cars that it really shouldn't have, just focus on handling, and improving driver skill. You have an awesome platform to kick things off with :)

Thanks, mate. I am looking to get this car for track use so I am doing my research on how good this car is compared to other cars of the same value. Good to know that it doesn't have so much assist as modern cars do these days!

I now adjust the thermo fan settings in everyone on these that I tune for this reason. They hit over 100 degrees coolant temp pretty easy, and while they usually don't get hot enough to hurt anything, the ECU starts to limit the engine once they start to get up there.

13th of May I ran the Queensland Raceway round 4 sprints as well as general practice in mine and the car did really well i had an absolute ball it was so much fun!
