CC Lancer Suspension

I have recently got some CE Lancer coilovers for my CC. I am just wondering how hard they are to modify to fit CC as I know the tops on the front are different for one. So could I just get some standard struts from a CC and swap the tops? Just wondering if the rest will line 100% ???

Would like to know from people who have done this rather than people who have just researched it.

Depends on the brand of coilovers

Otherwise get some tops from the coilover manufacturer to suit EVO 1/2/3 and they will fit

Or, you could drill holes in your struts to suit CE strut tops

They are by a brand called Hot Bits and have made in Germany printed on them. I havent looked into them too much but they seem to be made fairly well to a lot of coilovers I have seen in the same price range. They are adjustable but have standard looking tops which makes them perfect as in SA police like to defect so if they pop the hood just looks like a standard strut top.

Are the rears the same from CC to CE ??? So the only thing I will have to mod would be the strut towers? If things get too difficult I will just sell them on as I already have King Springs front and rear anyways.

What u pay for them?? i used to have Hotbits, they arnt too bad for a cheap coilover, sold them off for $300

Contact Hotbits and get EVO1/2/3 top hats for front, the rears will be fine

Yeh they arent too bad. I have already offered them to someone for $250. If they dont come through on the sale then I will contact Hot Bits in the new year and order the new tops for them and bolt them in. I just want something a bit firmer than the King Springs. The height is good but it leans too much in the corners. If I dont do coilovers I was going to go with thicker sway bars and strut braces front and rear.

Thats the same issues i had with the hotbits, they were too soft, do you know the spring rate in them??

Oh no, not the Hot Bits. My mates CE was as hard as a rock. He just put it back to stock when he sold it and I got the coilies off him as that was the idea I was going for. My current king spring setup is what I want to stiffen up. The king springs just lower the car. I was thinking of going monroe gt shocks, thicker sway bars and strut braces. We will see what happens when I sell my weekend car and just have the lancer.

Ahh ok well it was soft in my car, maybe due to the extra weight, im currently running Kings Prosport coilovers, not too bad but still abit soft in the rear

This is the reason i need stiff suspension lol

Haha. That looks awesome. I am building my car for hills more than straight line speed. I was thinking a dohc head, bigger headers, bigger injectors, larger throttle body and a piggy back ecu with some achilles 123 semi slicks will be enough for me. But as I said I need to get my weekend car back from the paint shop and sell it for this to start happening.

Nah. I don't want to be understeering due to wheel spin. I want something nimble. You don't need power in the hills. Ask the multi coloured guard rails, they will tell you. And want something the missus can drive too. If I wanted more power I would tune my other car and have over 350rwkw but it isn't needed.

It does pretty well now. I have gone up with mates who have cars with higher horsepower and boost and can pull away from them now. I just want it a bit more responsive with a few more kw's and will be fine. Im not interested in having like 200 fwkw in the hills. Im not building my car into a horsepower hero.

yep too much power in fwd makes it kinda less enjoyable for the hills i like my 4g15 with the t25 i rekon is perfect for the hills

1 of the reasons i converted my coupe to AWD, i used to spin the fronts till 5th gear, no traction what so ever and i only made just over 200kw lol
