Hey guys, i got a 1.8 sohc cc lancer n it goes pretty hard 4 wat it is but i rekon its in need 4 some more power. Does anyone no any decent power upgrades ( witch dont include turbos since im still on my green ps) witch i could look into? I already have a pod filter and a 2.25 inch exhaust wit headers n high flow cat. Also i heard of people swapping out the 4g93 sohc head 4 the dohc head from the GSR, is this a good way 2 go? or am i better off buyin a 4g63 n gettin that put in? any help is much apprieciated cheers.

4g63 is an evo/vr4 motor and has a turbo so you wont be able to drive it.
GSR head can be bolted on, i have one sittin in the shed. PM me if your interested.

also try an introduction so we know a lil more about you

What you have sounds pretty good with out having to spend big dollars for small gains.
Pending on how long you have you p's for I'd just keep a eye out for a cheap cc gsr motor you can do up on the side, then once of your p's put that in if your planning on having your lancer that long...

the 4g63 was spose 2 b 4 wen i was off my ps my bad n how much of a power gain would i b gettin puttin on the gsr head? Also wat would i need 2 get done for it all 2 work properly?

proton gsr head

oh, and use some proper english yeah? i t0tes <3 reedin wurdz lyk diss

You can use either the Proton M21/GTi 4G93P DOHC engine with no problems, you dont even need to engineer the car

The 4G92 MIVEC 1.6, they are slight bit better than the 1.8 DOHC engine but are rare to find

The 4G61 1.6 DOHC out of a CB GSR

The 4G63 out of a HG Galant, they are a 2.0 DOHC NON TURBO

The V6 6A12 2.0 QUAD CAM out of a HJ galant in it

None of the engines above will need engineering or mod plates as they fall in the 15% increase/decrease specification

Both can be found at pick and payless blacktown in Sydney. The guy said the 2.0 DOHC would be about 400bucks, cheap and easy if you have the tools and time by the looks of it.

I pulled the rocker cover off the HG Galant motor, so its not as recognisable as a 4g63 so noob heads dont spy it and rip it to bits. Its under the back seat. The car also comes with 276mm Rotors and calipers all round.

Now that's some clever thinking!

Yeah i looked at its and thought, what a gem! There was a CB there aswell with a DOHC but someone has taken the head off and thrown it on the ground, nothing is missing, they just pulled it apart for fun. I was thinking about pinching both the engine and the brakes, but i have nowhere to work on it and it would be a waste of money, one day when I'm an engineer Ill have a shed with a hoist to do all the stuff i ever wanted.

L33T speak...

Such special individuals combining text-speak and l33t together, surely it takes longer to l33t or text-speak...

"Yeah I'm totally going to hack the white house computer later and try to trick the president in to thinking that the canadians are coming over the border mounted on flying war bears"

became this:

"Y34h 1m t0t411y 901n9 2 h4x05z t3h \/\/h1t3 h0|_|53 c0mp|_|73r l8r & 7ry 2 7r1ck the pr35 1n 2 th1nk1ng t3h c4n4d14n5 r c0m1n9 0v3r t3h b0rd3r m0|_|n73d 0n fly1ng \/\/4r b34r5"

Nup.. L33t speak converter page.. plus I just copied it. I cannot actually see a reason to use that kind of text-talk, as it actually offends English speaking people.

It's bad enough, especially when reading on forums, to find out that people obviously had terrible schooling, are grammatically poor and still cannot use the correct heterograph in simple speech.

Shame, Australia, shame...
