Aftermarket headlights

Personally no, but a mate got some aftermarket ones for his CH, he had a lot of trouble with them with water leaking inside and fogging up, also bad fitting. Now you could argue that he used high pressure water under bonnet like a rabid demon or was too stupid and didn’t do up or check connections, or sealing properly at back of headlights before pressure cleaning.
I have read on other forums that this is a common problem with (cheap??) aftermarket headlights , although I wouldn’t call $482 cheap!
Best bet would be to get yourself a set of original VRX CH OEM ones, better quality and build, prob cost expect to pay anywhere for $90 to $150 each for orig ones. If you not sure if they are orig or not, just look at quality of writing/ part numbers stamped on lenses and body.
Also orig ones have the word “Stanley” stamped on bottom of the lens itself.

I bought a set of TYC headlights to replace my fading original ones - in the VRX black. Been on the car for over a year, they fog up occasionally and thats about it. I did also heat them up in an oven, pull them open and modify the insides - so the fogging is on me I guess.

the ones you linked are more expensive than TYC ones and are not subject to Australian consumer law as theyre from the US. So if you have any troubles, they likely wont care and they’re actually not obligated to sort it.

Yeah that’d sound about right for cheaper aftermarket lights, I have looked around at wrecked vrx’s but 90% of the time they’ve been sitting out in the weather for wayyy to long to be restored nicely. I have found some oem style ones in Melbourne so hopefully they prove decent

Thanks for the bit of wisdom on the consumer laws of it I definitely will avoid them, and I might have a nosy at TYC and see what they have
