hey guys/girls, i was just wondering how much of customizing would be involved to fit the following bodykit onto a 1994 lancer CC

http://www.bodykits.com/Extreme-Dim...x-Fiberglass-Bomber-Body-Kit-_-110170/614091/

i want to put this bodykit onto my lancer to be different to everyone else, i see alot of cc lancers running around with cyborg or evo 1/2 bodykits on them and didnt want to copy them, also what are the specs for rim/tyre sizes that i could fit onto my lancer, ive only just recieved the car and havent really had a chance to do too much with it as ive been working 6days a week and for upto 11hours at a time

That car is an eclipse so im guessing it will take a bit of work to make it fit. try to find an eclipse style lancer bodykit, that will be your best bet

ah tats what i thought, i want to do something different with my lancer, i dont want any of the usual lancer bodykit choices, i have asked the company about getting them to resize it to fit my lancer, i havent gotten a reply back yet, im expecting a response to it in the next week about how much work is involved and how badly its gonna hurt my wallet to get them to do it if it is possible, i dont mind doing the customizing myself but i dont have the time doing it to be honest.

are you pretty set on that kit?

cos custom body work.... it takes a HUGE chunk out of ur wallet, a normal easy fitment body kit is ~$2-2.2K mark- for parts, fitment and painting
this would be well up into the 3-5K mark to custom fit that to ur car

sorry but reality was in order there

fitment and painting will cost me nothing cause my brother does his own cars(right now he is redoing a bodykit for his nissan N13 Exa) n said he'd help do mine with putting it onto the car and painting it for me, yes i am aware that it will take a huge chunk of my wallet but if it is gonna cost too much to get the company to resize it to fit it then ill get my mate to do it for a few 6packs of beer in return. he already offered to help out with the lancer in anyway that he can so its no big deal to get it done, i just dont wanna rely on them all to do it for me, like fitment and putting it onto the car isnt a problem for me, i do mainly mechanical and some electrical work on it myself, i try to stay away from body/panel beating work because im not very knowledgable with that side of work on cars.

thx for the link to that car man but i dont want a replica car u kno, something completely unique n unthought of. ill upload progress images and reports as i go with it ^^

that bodykit is jacked off a supra in the first place.

supra lines are completely different to a CC lancer.
itll cost u a few k to do it and IMO itll end up looking like *poo*
something like this

yeh i figured that, but if i can get the company to do it for me then i dnt think it would look as crappy as it would if it was a home job, idk we'll see :) but i reackon the way it is,if i jus shrink its length a little n then cut it to suit n fibreglass it to the body then i dnt think it would look too bad on it, it would definately be different

citta Wasn't refering to it being bad cos its a home job, he was refering to the fact that body kits are rather out-dated these days
fast n furious/sexspec/show cars are oldschool these days, not many of them actually look good, sure we can respect the ammount of work put into them but most for the final products look "overdone" and less sleek

and if your going custom kit... your heading well into the "overdone" realm

the trends today are to keep it simple, clean sleek, and add little things like lip kits, vents, and other subtle things, put more money into the engine and performance, and interior conforts

sure you can still go custom on the stock kit... and alot of customised stock kits actually look heaps good
but big bulky kits are past their day... the only one that really survives these days is the vertex kit, probably cos its very smoothe sleek and simple

yeh there is a guy on MPF with that kit on his cc, looks okay, better than the eclipse kit would have

ah okai, there was a cc lancer with that kit forsale at the wreckers near my brother, it was painted red n he drooled over it everytime i saw it, aparently they only wanted around 1100 for it ahaha. but eh i think i will actually save up for that, i can see it looking better than the eclipse kit on it

custom custom custom
learn to fiberglass your own gear then make the bumpers to fit yourself
or learn how to mould the plastic
alot of work and money but worth it if you do it right

I payed just over 12k for a custom kit and respray on the old M21, tell you the truth, waste of money
Just buy an "off the shelf" kit, coz if ever u damage the kit ur stuffed and need to get it remade/repaired etc

What shape cc lancer do you have? 4 door or 2 door?

The J Racing kit is the best ive seen to suit the cc lancer 2 door
Also the xracing kit - http://xracing.com.au/wp-content/upload ... B03-21.jpg

As for 4 door, nothing can beat the EVO3 kit, then EVO2, then a standard GSR front lip and skirts
This kit be interesting, never seen it on a car yet - http://carmate.com/Images/BodyKitImages ... FB_big.jpg

i would but i kno nothing about fibreglassing or any kind of body work tbh, i do mechanical, nothing more. i dont want to learn body work cuz i find it boring, making things go fast, making them sound cool, is my pashion. i leave body work to my brother or my boss.

why not make ur car go fast and keep it looking a clean stock-ish base, sleeper.
then u dotn have to waste money on kits and paint and fitment

if you were going show car route, sure, but alot of show cars these days use stock kits with minor tweaks and some minor custom work and put more money into trimming, brands and a polished proffessional look
