I'll put aside, cost and availability.

Straight off the bat, wiring. If you run a full standalone, you'll need a seperate controller or a ECU that can support the variable runner in the intake manifold, eg. send the signal to the motor to switch when it hits mivec. Next, you need to find an ECU to support mivec, sometimes its harder then you'd think. Then, You either need to get the whole 6A12 engine loom and possibly dash loom and swap it all out. Then you need to splice the Cluster lines into the ECU/Engine loom.

After that, the engine will bolt in, there is 1 gearbox mount that isn't 100% from memory though. Also you'll need to remove one of the thermo fans to be able to fit the exhaust otherwise run a slim line fan or one on the front.

Also, I'd advise to get a wreck, because you'll be able to get the engine and all looms, but also the brakes, MC cylinder, and other parts, you might have to adapter the FTO A/C lines into the Lancer. Half cuts work, but you'll need to upgrade the rear brakes.

Depending on where you live, Engineering is a must, and/or modplate. Eg. in WA I need my engine, box, brakes, and suspension Engineered. (Also upgrade suspension, you'll want to.), in other states its just as simple as getting a modplate and getting it checked over, and in others its different again.

The real question is, a) can you afford the mivec front cut b) is it worth the effort when a 4G93 with supporting mods can go hard and awesome with some suspension mods.

Best place to get a front cut is places like JustJap, or other jap importers. But the best bet would be finding a wreck in Aussie since it'll already be "imported" and registered within australia under a states records.

Prices, look you can get a front cut for roughly 1.5k-2.5k, manual will push the price up if its rare. A wreck you'll get for the same amount and you get everything. To do the work, would be a decent weekend with help and patiences.

P plates, depending on state, look into the Power increase guidelines. The engine is 140~kwATF stock.
