Hey guys, does anyone have any experience swapping the 4g93t into a Ce coupe? I’m thinking about doing the swap but want to make sure everything will go relatively smoothly before I start.

Yeah with the turboAs in the dohc motor from the gsr?
Yeah with the turbo
Going into a ce is no bueno, it's around the wrong way, you can however use the dohc head on a 4g93 I believe. I'm sure others here CNA confirm / add to this, as well as just searching the forum
Any idea on how to tell the difference between the cc generation and the ce? I’ve found a couple of 4g93t’s for sale but I wasn’t aware of the differenceDepends which GSR - there was a more common CC-generation GSR, and a pretty rare CE GSR, that we call the CM5A. The CE GSR/CM5A will bolt in without issues. The wiring is another story

Cheers man, any idea about whether the transmission from my current 4g93 will bolt up to the the cm5a?The CC series will have the timing belt on the passenger side of the car,
the CE-series will have the timing belt on the drivers side.
Would it be easier/cheaper then to turbo my current engine? That was my first idea but I thought the swap would be a lot easier

That’s too bad I was getting really keen on the swap, glad I asked though before I went out and bought the wrong engine!Infinitely easier from the point of availability, probably neither here or there cost wise.
Getting a CM5A is the hardest part, they weren’t a domestic release here. You might be lucky to find one for sale once every two years or so. Parts have to be ordered in from either New Zealand or Japan when you need them.
All depends on if your a diehard DOHC fan boy and are willing to wait, or just want to get in to it and start boosting!
And think of it this way. If you blow your Aussie 4G93 SOHC, you can always pick up another one cheap and quick. I picked up a 4G93 for my other mirage for $100, if it were a CM5A who even knows when it would’ve been back on the road!

Do you know much about boosting these engines?
Not apart from the basics, no.
Hens does all my engine & turbo stuff.
While I have some knowledge I prefer not to mess with that area of things.
