im not sure what will happen if i was to disconnect these cables from these switches and put a boss kit with new wheel :(

any ideas?

(p.s. reason for this is mod, is i am gettin an evo hopefully soon an this will bolt right on to the evo 8 so yeh.)

only one way to find out :p as far as i know it shouldnt have any major effect

oh but doesnt the 04 CH have airbags? cause id be careful removing it because iv heard steeringwheels with airbags are prone to going off when trying to take them off, so id be a bit cautious about that, maybe try disconnecting the battery for a while first so it disables them :D

well yes this is true only one way to find out lol but i didnt wanna have to remove the damn thing then find out the car wont start or some *poo*. i have been told it sets off the airbag lights on the dash... but im not sure. :(
an yeh id would defs disconnect the battery grrr more effort than its worth just wait for evo dammit!!!

Really not worth doing on a ch for the trouble it will cause. If you get rid of your air bag you're instantly defecting your car, not to mention voiding insurance because you're removing a standard safety requirement of the car. Unless you're going to replace it with an evo wheel or similar with an airbag don't do it

Yes that is true i did not think about insurance. as for defect the cops are always pullin me over trying to get me... ;) im not too fussed about a defect notice. but yes as for insurance not cool... so yeh i dont think ill bother so ill leave it till i get evo which hopefully is gonna be real soon!!! its drivin me nuts

no no the evo 8 wheel will fit on my ch lancer :) i found that out. :) but i cannot be bother to rip mine off incase of airbags... just wait till i get my evo like in possibly 3months or so :(

ahh ok so you are buy an evo8,

evo8 get the boss kit/non aibag wheel

the ch gets the evo8 momo?

I hope this helps.

All CJ Lancers have those connectors in CVT (Automatic) models. I have the poverty pack ES, which I have put in the flappy paddles. They were plug-n-play, direct fit.

You should, in theory, be able to just disconnect those from your wheel (and your airbag, after you disconnect the battery) without effect.

If you do not have an airbag in your new wheel, you will have a warning light illuminate continuously on your dash. You may be able to either fool or disrupt your computer from registering this, talk to your local Mitsu dealership. They may not want to answer you though, as this is a defect (as mentioned above).

Technically you can flash your computer and remove this error/remove this from registering, if you have a CanBus style ECU system.

Personally, I replaced my wheel, just to a leather-bound model (pov pack has plastic) so I added the flappy paddles and audio controls, where it did not have it before. I would stick to a wheel that has those features.. most kill to have them!
