Wiring in Aux cable MY08 VRX

Hey guys,
I just recently bought an '08 Lancer VRX and the previous owner opted to not get the premium audio package so I'm currently running on just radio and keen to get some of my own tunes playing while driving. I've done a bit of research online, prepped my cable ready to go in but when I went to plug it in, it seems as if there are already cables where I'm supposed to plug my new aux cable in. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this and whether or not I need to remove the cables already in there or am I just getting it wrong? I've put below the link of the video which I'm taking my information from and also photos of my plug. Any help would be appreciated.

Remove some insulation off those wires and splice the new wires onto it with solder, tap it up and you are done. Alternatively you may find there is an unused plug down behind where the AUX in ports would be in the VRX's centre console. You could cut that plug off and do a clean join with solder or crimps.
