which head flows the best CE or CH...

Building another engine or rather just swapping over heads but I will have a spare head left over that I can port and polish from a CE and was wondering if it is worthwhile putting it onto a 4G94... along with 4G93 intake camshaft etc

As far as I know are they not the same physical head with just different cams?

If encompassing all parts of head, then the 93 flows much better and has a much longer duration
Matty is currently using the 93 cam on his 94 block, works a treat

I have read but not sure how accurate this is, that the heads are the same however the 4G93 cam is "better"

Heads pretty much the same, may be .5mm difference on the rounded sides of the head to match the bore size of the 94. The 94 cam does have a bit more lift than the 93 on the intake.

The camshafts are different as follows

94 cam Intake opens 2deg BTDC closes 58deg ABDC, Exhaust opens 58deg BBDC closes 10deg ATDC

93 cam Intake opens 14deg BTDC closes 50deg ABDC, Exhaust opens 58deg BBDC closes 10deg ATDC

Matty the heads are usually not shaped exactly to the bore size FYI. In fact with a lot of Mitsubishi heads the recess area isn't even round

Random google image of 4G63 head:

ya lui (lltracing) was tellin us guys at the drags that the heads are the same, its the cams that are different when we asked him about some of his builds.

I took the head off tonight off the block and started pulling it apart - when I got to the cam sensor cover the cylinder was a different shape from others that I have done can anyone confirm that they have seen different shapes/style of cylinders.. in a 4G93... just seems strange... wish I could remember what the 4G94 looks like...

Spetz i'm aware they are not shaped exactly round, i was referring to the rounded sides. Diameter was a poor choice of word, but round sidey things would have been worse.

i think curvature and circumfirence of that bit is the words youre looking for.

You're probably right. Round sidey things would've probably found it's way into someones signature ;)
