Hi Guys,
The other day i put a tacho cluster in my 99 model mirage all went in no problem, I had to hook in from the blue connection in the engine bay because pin 58 on the ecu did not work even though I had a spare ecu plug pin and fitted it all in perfectly but no biggy.
The problem is when the tacho is conected to the blue connector every time i pull up at say traffic lights or at home the revs die like down to 400 rpm but within five seconds they climb back up to normal. I reset the ecu let it idle for 15 minutes turn it off and back on revs normal but as soon as I drive off and pull up some where its starts doing it again.
So today I disconnected to tacho wire from the blue connector and reset my ecu (I was also changing my fuel sender which fixed my irractic guage problem) and now no problem at all back to normal.
Has any one had this problem before? Why would the tacho connection cause this idling/revs problem?
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers.
