Water proofing

when i take my door card off , the orgonal plastic water proof stuff is alll messed up and old, im kinda worried about , anyone redone there;s and want to shed some advise on what to use to redo it ??
 
first off, its "original", and i pulled mine out years ago, i would worry about it.
 
i have $900 dollar speakers in my door, electric windows, car sits out side never gets wet, chit all water gets in unless your window seal is stuffed.
 
My first speakers rusted up with the plastic insert. My seals are a bit tired. I just sealed up the speaker housing slits.
 
why dont you just clean it all off, get some more sikaflex and stick the plastic back on good again. easy?
 
nah the actual plastic bit wheres out, mine leaks water too, im constantly replacing my central locking actuators. and my speakers failed once also. i need to see about replacing also.
