arlight , well im planning on buying king lows or superlows for my 2003 ce, i want to install them with my dad so its cheaper and i get an idea how do *poo* like that, always good to have an isite , how ever the only thing i dont want is anything on my car to be illigal ( oops about my cai)
ride hight on car is like the lowest point being 10cm off the deck , right ??
ive got stock everything atm so nothing is lower then it should be how hight will lows or super lows put my car down to

100mm from lowest point of the chassy/bracing (not including mud gaurds etc.)

superlows in the front, and lows in the rear will get u a nice height all round, and will be well above the 100mm mark still

make sure u lay the shocks down and use spring compressors each side of the 1 spring when you are taking the top hats off
lay them down when you undo the top bolt after removing them from the car, dont want the spring shooting up if its not compressed enough, better for it to spring off to the side away from you
than hitting you in the face

you will need a impact gun/rattle gun to remove and replace the top bolt of the strut rod ;)

also maybe consider getting something other than kings... cos they are terds, maybe lovells, they have a better reputation

tools needed:
imapact gun
17mm long socket (for the top bolt on the strut)
17mm open ender or ring spanner (for the bottom bracket bolts)
14mm socket (for the 3 nuts ontop of the strut tower in the engine bay)

may also need to use your cars jack to jack up the lower controll arm so the bolt holes line up, makes it easier than someone lifting it

you don't NEED a rattle gun res. I did mine with one of those big ass bars. It'd also be worth mentioning that impact guns are pretty pricey if you don't get one that runs on air, and if you do you'll need a fairly big compressor.

That said, It was RIDICULOUS doing it without a gun. Spring compressors took ages to get on with a ratchet, next time I use spring compressors I buy a rattle gun or air ratchet.

matty and i used a $40-$55 12volt rattle gun that ran off the car battery first time we did mine...
not expencive, and didnt use much battery pwr at all

also rattle gun makes it a whole bunch easier to put the main top bolt back on ;)

get enough grunt out of that gun? That's interesting didn't know they made 12v ones.

it was bs good, got crank bolt of no problems for the first time.
it kinda winds up when u hold the trigger and when its fully wound, releases and gives it a good hit of torque
doesnt do so well on continuious winding tho like air impacts

^sounds awesome, hook me up with a link mate!

As for springs (not coilovers) my suggestions in order from best go: Dobinsons!, Lovells, Pedders, King

i will have a look for it, was matty's friends we borrowed cos matty doesnt have a compressor
got it from bunnings or something

im still looking into doing my self , tyhough im pritty noob, how much do you guy rekicn a good price is to get them installed and where like, bob jane , jacks, bau repair who ???or even like a imacanics ??

DIY it man, learning how to do this sort of stuff is unbelievably helpful in the long term of modifying cars
it really isnt that hard to do, quite straight forward

where abouts are u located in AUS? maybe a member could come give u a hand who has already done it themselves
