Securing a sub in a Mirage

Sister's friend wants a sub installed in her Mirage and whilst I ahvent seen the boot of a Mirage really, I'm thinking there is probably nothing to screw it into overhead. So any suggestions (pref with a photo)????

Up against the back seat, grab some sub tie down straps (they cost about $12 from most decent audio places) and screw one end into the floor and the other to the box. Don't really understand the whole screwing it in from above. Each strap goes from top of the box, angled out and towards the back of the box and attached to the floor which holds them in nice and tight with no movement. Good thing about sub straps is they have clips in the middle to make them easy to unclip if you want to take them out. Can draw a pic when I get home.

Edit: They are made by ROK Straps if you wanted to look them up

Only ones I can find are on eBay going for $25!! Never seen them in audio stores down here in Wollongong, then again none are what you would call decent

I have the Kicker L7 and it just fits under the cross member in the boot, so it works well having it screwed in with L brackets, although I did have to silicon the screws to stop them coming loose. I wouldn't really trust some bungee cord to hold that sub in place fanging through the RNP...

Na they're not really a bungee cord like the rest of the ROK range... they're specific ones made for subs. We used to sell them at autobarn, and I know the local car audio used to sell them too. Once they're in and pulled tight they wont be going anywhere. I had a look on their site and they didn't have a picture of them, and couldn't find any on ebay at all. Hard thing to find.

I just looked up the distributors for them. The supplier is AudioXtra, who is also the supplier for Axis audio and Dynamat, so I reckon if you can find someone who sells this gear you'll probably find them.

There is a very small picture at the bottom of this page, but it doesn't really give you a very good idea of how they work:

Could use L brackets as well, but not really a lot of room to secure it to in the mirages because of the wheel well. Also the wood that covers the spare tyre is not overly stable or thick to hold it well

Should have a ply floor would be enough to hold a small sub just by screewing into the floor

Could also get some 50mm tek screws and drive it into the floorpan.

x2, roof screws fix everything, like zipties and gaffy tape

Will be good to follow this thread as I want to do the same, I was going to get a Sony sub & box, They are fairly flat/square so not much space taken up.
