Scraping noise from steering wheel?

Hey guys, a little while ago my steering wheel starting making a scraping noise when it turns, not the wheels at all but the steering wheel itself, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows what could be causing this? Adam.

Stock or aftermarket? My aftermarket one did that but then when I put a stock one on it was fine. I don't know if it matters too much but the splines could be off alignment or something when it was put on.

its the contact between the copper plate and the steel rod that it grounds on. without it your horn will not work.
not sure what peeps have done to stop it from squeaking though.

A bit of grease smeared on to the copper skid contact for the horn will probably solve the issue.

Doesn't need much, just a small smear.

PS: Oh, and don't forget to clean off all the old grease.

The metal contact warped on y boss kit and I did this. Also used some glue (Kwik-grip I think it was called) on the metal to hold it on the boss. Worked for over a year when I sold the car
