Remote Central Lcoking HELP

Hey guys, the other day I decided to buy a remote locking kit off eBay.
I have now realised its gonna cost me around $200 to get it installed professionally :/
I was simply wondering if anyone knew anything about the installation of a keyless entry kit.
As I know when I go to install it, i'm going to be completely lost... haha
The kit will operate blinkers, central locking and the power windows.
(by locking the car the windows go up and the car locks etc.)
Thanks for any input.

it should come with instructions, try and follow along, maybe you could scan and post up here? we can try and have a look.

my opinion dude, get a proffesional.

you might be $200 dollars less in your pocket

but if the wrong thing happens, it will be more then 200

hmm, it will have a wiring diagram. but no instructions.
when I get the kit, I will have a look at it. and post photos etc up here.
I wanna keep $200 though :( its like 14 hours work for me haha.
stupid woolworths. If it looks like too much trouble, I might go with the safe option.

First question would be can you solder, crimp wires, use a multi-meter etc? If the answer is no, then I'd be hesitant giving this a go until you know how to do the things I mentioned!!

my 2c is get it professionally done, it will look neater and then u dont have to have the frustration

my other 2c is have a go at it first, and if u feel like ur getting in over your head then stop and get a professional to do it

WTF make up your mind.

So many wires to hook up it will drive you crazy, get some one to do it for you

yeh, get a prof to do it
i stuffed up mine and the accuators for the door lock release got shorted or something and died
so all my alarm does not is make the indicators flash :S

didnt some dude over at mlga' car catch fire cause of a dodge alarm install?

He has a minor background in soldering, etc. But I wouldn't trust him installing this.

Fork out the $200. I set my car on fire by just installing an LED strip, and that was a piece of piss.

pfft ive done many hours of soldering jase, good old electronics since year 10 (Y)
doesnt help me figuring out which wires go to which thats all :S
positive and grounding are *poo* easy. but finding the power window controls and the central locking actuators is going to be hard...
and then theres the boot release... fml that may need something else installed to get that going..
Im going to have a look at it. and if im not 99% certain then professional it is

So I got my kit the other day, these are the best photos I could get of the kit
and wiring diagrams. I have no idea where to start :S lol

good luck, i honestly couldnt be F'd and would just get some $$ for a pro to do it neater

tru tru, i CBF'd doin central locking on a 2 door car :p
altho i wouldnt mind an alarm

I have been messing around with my daughters poverty pack GLi and when i bought the wire harness for the power windows it also had the central locking also on it - then I looked at another wire loom that I had from a GLXi which has the central locking and power mirrors on it but no power windows my thoughts would be is to go to a wreckers find a GLXi or 1.8lt lancer rip the wire loom out and the central locking off the door which is inside the door and under the door handle and transfer all of that to your car yes it is a lot of messing around but it is all factory... then I think on ebay they sell the central locking remote and then take the car into mitsubishi and get them to set the central locking this will not cost alot you may even get lucky when you go to the wreckers they may have the remote there already.
then sell your $200 set that you got for $100.

Does your car have central locking already? If not u still need to mount the actuators( get some actuators) also before u have a dig, that $200 spent at a sparky also buys u warrenty. If u do it and screw it up, your on your own. But it should be pretty basic to install. The hardest part will be getting wires through to your door.

Looking at the central locking diagram, u want option 2, so u want the purple and green from the module to go to your doors for the actuators the rest involves finding what wires do what for eg, dome light, brake light and blinkers. Find your brake feed at the brake switch, and blinkers from probably best spot the hazards switch output. The dome light will also be at the fuse box, just find it running along the foot panel at drivers door.
