passenger door roof light switch thing

ok so ive looked abit and i cant find the answer so im gonna just ask

what is the thing called, when u open the passenger door and the roof light turns on

atm when i open it the light flicks on and off like lightning but only once.

any info would be great and maybe a pic or a name so i can google it

Spray it with some exec cleaner its prob just got dirt in it even wd40 would prob do the job
 
Only one wire will go to the switch. When you open the door, the switch throws out and a contact is made to the body (earth) so the light comes on. Simple switches also found in alarms like for the bonnet / boot opening but yeah, clean out the switch and put a bit of spray oil on it
