OBD / scanning for australian mirage ce year 2000

Was wondering if anybody could confirm
- which version of OBD is used by an Australian Mitsubishi Mirage CE (year 2000) with a 4G15 Sohc 12valve head?
- has anybody already got a pc based scan tool successfully connected to an Australian CE Lancer or CE mirage of this vintage? and if so what did they use?

Note: The car has an odb2 connector, but I'm not convinced it is odb2 protocol compliant (as a generic odb2 scan tool that i have does not work with this car).
Would be interested if somebody could confirm which MUT protocol this car supports and whether MUT is compatible with OBD2....

Note: I can currently read fault codes with the "check engine" / MIL light on the dash by shorting out pins 1 & pins 4/5 on the obd2 connector. But I'm really interested in collecting live metrics as to what the various sensors are reading (ie what is the current throttle position sensor reading currently?)

End game: I would like to run a pc based odb scanning tool on this mirage to get fault codes AND read live metrics from sensors when the car is running.

Was wondering if anybody had already done this with an Australian CE lancer or mirage of this vintage.

thanks in advance

Nick

hello...

it can be done rather easy, obd2 port is under steering wheel, google and find some free software online, there is plenty of it

pull apart your ecu, find out what processor it is.

depending on the type, you can either:

read it
read it/flash or edit it
read it/flash or edit it/run live diagnostics

the 2000 CE Lancer ecu is a MD360479 and has a MH7205HA processor in it.

You can read, write and reflash it using a Tactrix openport 2.0 using Ecuflash.
You can log it standalone using a microSD card.
You can also log it using the same openport and Evoscan which provides a notebook interface.
To tune it you need Ecuflash for changing values. Evoscan to see whats happening on WOT and a spreadsheet program to view the data.
