New owners experience - 2017 Lancer GSR 5 speed manual sedan

Hi everyone,

I have just bought my sons first car, 2017 Lancer GSR 5 speed manual sedan. It appears unusual for a GSR to have full leather, which was installed by Blackmans leather in Melbourne by the dealer when new.

While I would prefer to keep it stock as a rock, my son has others ideas.

I look forward to contributing to the forums and asking some questions.

Hey, welcome! Get some pics uploaded, I can’t recall what a GSR looks like or even leather interior to be honest.

Keep the oil service intervals short would be my number one advice - the 4B11 motors often get neglected and it leads to worn timing chain and guides, which is an expensive fix.

My trick was to look for repairs that my car needed and carry out an upgrade/modification when it was time to repair. Maybe that could help you two find a good compromise…
