Gday guys, new member here in Vic. Just bought a fresh import 1999 Evolution VI in Scotia White. Previous project car was a cortina, so you could say a BIG change in direction, haha.

It's a learning curve for me, but decided on the vi for potential future collector status. It's not a tommi mak, but hope to still have this car 20 years from now.

Mostly stock car apart from a BIG apexi catback exhaust and a HKS mushroom filter.

Looking forward to furthering my knowledge on this little beast and build it up a little over the years.

Cheers

Hey mate and welcome.

Im a big fan of the VI, buckets of fun to drive.

Very clean and even got the mudflaps!

Thanks guys. Its not bad for its age. Its had a major cut and polish prior to import, but it came up good. Few minor marks, few small scratches, but its all age appropriate and mostly unmodified, which is what i was most interested in.

Has a mitsubishi 1.5bar boost gauge on the steering column and a double din jap navigation unit but interior is mint and unmolested. Original oz racing wheels and suspension and yes, those ralliart mudflaps! My wife hates them but i love them! They're pretty shagged, but I'll replace them as time goes on.

oh yeah, 111,000 kms with all import documents, auction sheet, and original service logbooks and owners manual. Also have the receipts for the exhaust and hks filter done when it was only 18,000kms old!

Welcome!

Daaaayum man clean asf! The mudflaps make it more aggressive I think, ties in well.

Did you import yourself or buy from this end?

I was contemplating importing myself through a broker in Melbourne that we bought a Nissan Elgrand from a couple months ago, but then this came up.

It had been advertised for couple weeks online before I decided to go and have "just a look" haha. An hour or so later, deposit down, bang!

Bought it from a reputable importer in Melbourne. Had enquired on a few private cars, but nearly no one had documents to verify kms. This was imported as a RA grade. R denotes it was an accident repaired car, the A denotes a minor accident or very good repair job. Front left corner had been in a smallish prang. New fender, headlight, possibly front bar too. Have had it on a hoist at a couple different places and nothing looks out of place, wheel alignment was a piece of cake, and it drives sweet so I'm happy. Came with new clutch, 4 new rotors and pads, all fluids and ac gas (as with all imports), and four new semi-slicks :)

The importer physically inspected the car himself in Japan before he bought it, so after seeing his business, the cars in stock and a quick check on their public reputation, I was pretty confident I should be right.
