My Lancer CE :(

Just grab a replacement one from a wrecker or if you want new I guess see if Repco can get them?

If you wanted to really do an upgrade and had the time you could change to a coil on plug setup, search on here for the thread of someone who did it. Wont exactly look better though....

I'm not sure if it is because of my coil pack but whenever I press on the gas, the car will shake and hesitate to move forward. It will move very slowly. I have to press on the gas really gently and slowly to pick up the speed.

sounds like a 1.5 to me
Sounds like it goes like a 1.5, my mirage used to do this also, i used to disconnect battery for an hour or what ever then reconnect and start car don't touch anything just let it idle away for like 15 minutes to be sure then turn off. If you don't know already it rests your ecu . mine used to idle a bit funny for a day or two but then all good. i used to have the same problem it was like i used to have to feed the gas on slow or it would bog down for a bit, but i think half the problem was because it was a 1.5.

My mechanic told me is the coilpack, cause he notice that there are a few cracks. I just want to get some suggestion on what coilpack should I use. I used blue splitfire coilpacks for my skyline and it looks nice. Just wonder if splitfire coilpack is necessary for my lancer.

just get oem replacemnts

unless u have hardcore mods the stock ignition system is more than enuf, even with hardcore mods it performs fine

double check it too! might just be the spark plug leads, or spark plugs? is it missing sounding like a wrx? if it is then yes it is the coilpack. i would suggest changing the plugs and leads first. sounds like your coils are still working. btw if your in melbourne you can borrow my one to make sure its the coils thats missing. replacement oem coil packs are not cheap. i wouldnt want anyone doing what i did and just pretty much change everything to find out the problem is still there!

Thanks Lance, yes I have changed the spark plugs, I thought the leads and the plugs are the same thing? No?

Thanks for the offer btw but I don't know how to change the leads and the coil myself. Do not have any mechanical knowledge. I just know how to drive a car.

its very simple, have a look at it, its 2 bolts per coilpack and just pop out the plug
then get a socket and undo the spark plug and check condition

if u have a look its probably a 2min job or less
