My engine runs really loud, normal?

Hey guys.. I have had my Lancer for a fare few months now. It's always done this, but just today started to wonder.. is it supposed too?

Well.. whenever my engine is idling, cruising, reving, anything.. It seems to run quite loudly.
I have a 02 MR Lancer.

Just wondering, anyone else find this aswell with their car, or know why? Is it just a lancer thing? Lil help.. lol.
 
mine is lound too, bout 110dba loud when i put the some pressure on the gas :cool: home engineering

have you taken it to a mechanic for an opinion? (you can generally get an opinion for free at some mechanics)
 
Do you have cannon, or sports exhaust? or is it your actual engine making noises

2.25" Catback Sport Exhaust.

It's my engine making the noise though.

Mm.. been needing to go to my dads friend mechanic for a while, running wrong gear box oil, so I shall go soon :p

EDIT: Previous owner put wrong oil in, not me. lol.
 
Not specific enough sir, it could be injectors, tapets, engine mounts and many other items located in the engine bay. Generally there will possibly be injector noise the most i know mine are very annoying.

Need to give us a bit more detail, does it increase in sound/pitch with RPM??

Otherwise could be anyones guess, have you checked for a lion in the boot? They can roar a bit loud some times?
