Hey guys, I recently bought my 02 MR Lancer and it has a whole new exhaust system which I love the sound of but hate the muffler tip. I think most of the work was done by the previous owner and looks a bit dodgy so just wondering your opinions.

Not sure where to measure for the new tip as behind the tip it measures 2.25" but it taperes up further back to 2.5".
I want the tip to be further back than the current one so it is more flush with the body.

Im looking at this tip which is 8" long and when i measure back from the body it would start on the tapered up part which is 2.5"

If I take it to a mechanic and get the old one cut off, would I be able to get the 3" inlet welded to the muffler which seems to be about 2.5" with some sort of adaptor or something?

Don't go to a mechanic take it to a exhaust shop and yes they will be able to get it on.

Thanks mate, I'll head down in the next few weeks and post up a photo when it's all done.

Exhaust tips are just making one piece of pipe fit another, you can but them up, slide over top or slide in. Aslobg as its close they will weld it.
