Magnaflow muffler?

Hey all,
Today I was looking around getting some quotes for some kind of exhaust system for my Lancer ES 2003, CH.
One place recommended me getting a Magnaflow with a tip. I have absolutely no idea about cars whatsoever so was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice and whether a magnaflow would be something good to put on it :)
Im not too keen on something like a connon and nothing too expensive.

Thank You! :D

Magnaflow goes alright. Lukey is pretty good too. In reality you don't even need a brand name muffler if you are just doing it for better flow/more sound. You can get a mild steel catback exhaust for about $400 I imagine. You can supply your own tip too (HKS, magnaflow, etc.) or even one for super cheap auto. Really depends what kind of exhaust system you want. I wouldn't bother with brand name mufflers if you aren't too serious about it. Also, you should get 2.25" or 2.5" piping for the best results performance and sound-wise.

Im not too fussed on getting the works. Just something with a nice deep note that isnt going to cost me a fortune.
Another place today suggested to just put a rear sports exhaust on however my mate got the exact same thing done and it sounds like a high pitched, farting noise which is defiantly what I dont want!

Id just get a mild steel catback. Gonzo muffler glasspack rear backbox/muffler in 2.25in should be fine. 2.5in if its going to be pressbent.

Just a quick question
I was told my current stock system i have on the car is a full stainless steel system, would a non stainless steel system make much of a difference quality wise?

Stainless steel is pretty much just for looks, slightly tinnier sound but otherwise you're just paying extra for a shiny exhaust which you can even see unless you jack the car up. Better off with mild steel and get a stainless steel tip.

Don't bother with MF. They look nice and shiny but when it comes to sound there's better out there. As mentioned, for about $400+ you can get a custom catback made as from what I know, there are no aftermarket pre-made systems for the CH/CG. This means you can get the sound you want from it.

I simply have a Lukey muffler on mine and it sounds tits. Also paired with a pod filter a mate gave me it sounds even better.

Whatever you do, don't get a cheap stainless Ebay system for a "good deal." A friend of mine got a catback for his DC2 Integra from ebay and it sounds worse than going at your muffler with a screwdriver. And never, ever go and get a cheap cannon, the baffles melt after about a week or two and end up sounding like a wet fart.
