Lancer as a weekend car. Is it ridiculous?

Hey guys.

So over the years I have spent a lot of money on my Lancer.
And now I am thinking to buy a car to drive around in traffic, to the shops etc, and then use the Lancer just for fun pretty much.

Now, I really understand this concept if the car was a GT-R, RX7 etc, but is it worth "conserving" the Lancer?
And do people think spending a big amount of money on a Lancer is stupid?

Thanks in advance for your input

Not really ridiculous... there is a member here who has a lancer as a weekend car and a g35 as a daily :p

id say no. unless its like striped/caged/stright through pipes, just generally uncomfortable to drive.

i know id rather take mum i30 hyundai sometimes then drive my galant...low, racing bucket, zero turning circle etc

its not too bad, if you want it as a weekend car then go for it, the 6a12 coupes are a thing to preserve,
may not be too much of a big deal to other people but if its something you want to keep then do it

Not ridiculous if you intend to keep the car at all, and if you do decide to sell in a year, you already have a daily so could go out and buy an evo or something that you would normally not want to drive everyday. Also you could insure your car for less cost p.a., for example with shannons who insure cars that aren't driven everyday.
If I had your car, I probably would get a simple daily, like an CH ES lancer, and keep it looking as it is with the bodykit and engine. (I like your bodykit :D)

Thanks for your input guys.
I do want another car, but the Lancer was my very first car and know it isn't worth much hence there is a chance I may not ever sell it, just keep it as a garage ornament.
And at this stage most likely even if I did want to get any sort of money from it I would have to part it out, which feels a bit like murder.

My thoughts are:
Spray it in a brilliant white
MR kit, white buddy club wheels + semi slicks, and maybe building another engine for it but with forged internals, cams, 6 pack TB etc... though all this will probably cost similar to an Evo VI or so which really seems wrong.

+1 Do it that BMW White.

it depends if the car means enough to you to spend the extra money on it.

like my cc coupe.. only cost me 3.5k.. ive already spent that much again on paint(as of sunday) and wheels/tyres in the last month or 2...
i plan on doing a whole lot more to it.. such as a worked evo conversion, custom interior, custom sound setup.
this is because the car means a lot to me, sure ive only had it 4 or 5 months but ive had trouble with every other lancer ive owned be it my fault or not at all.
i just want things to go right with this one so im putting a lot into it over time, also the car already has quite a lot of sentimental value to me lol.

it may end up as my weekend car one day.. never know

just my 2c ;)
