Agreed I would certainly dream about buying one if they made it :)

Well, I love me Volvos.. I grew up just near the factory, in Gothenburg, and everyone in my family has Volvos.... You just can't mistake some things...

look at the center of the car ,.. the front is glossy and the middle is complacently rendered .

ALTHOUGH i would love to see this with out a second thought

I did read that Mitsubishi are struggling in the car segment in australia since they closed the factory down in Australia which is why they have dropped the prices on new cars this past month and are looking at bringing back coupes - bring on the Eclipse

Problem is they are a one car company, the Lancer seems to sell well but there other models don't gain much traction. With how competitive the offerings are coming from Hyundai and Kia that doesn't help things out...

Then there is stupid decisions they make in the speccing for AUDM. Lancers roll out of Japan with a diesel, so why the hell dont they bring them into Aust? Especially for people that do alot of highway kms turbo diesel is generally a no brainer these days.

fan of the coupe but convertibles are gross IMO.

well, there isn't one... that is high-spec photoshop of a Volvo top.... Mitsu probably wont bother, nor will they bring out a Coupe, much to my disgust.

There was a coupe planned for the CJ Lancer. It was to come in 3 body styles; sedan, hatch and coupe. Market uncertainty (main market was the US where the CJ has done poorly), brand image restructure and late introduction of the 3rd body style saw the coupe killed off before it ever got out the gates at Mitsubishi Japan. The coupe was killed off just after the MY08 range hit the market. They might bring it back in for the next one for 2014 but the next Lancer is already having issues of its own. Similar issue as the V8 Magna; market on-sale date would have been too late in the model cycle and the 380 was just around the corner.

Mitsubishi might do it as they need something other than the Evo to set them apart in the next line up. If Mitsubishi did bring out a 3 body family it would put it in direct competiton with the Kia Forte/Cerrato family.

as a coupe it might look weird but i've seen chops of evo into coupe and they look kind of boss. even cooler is the libero/vr4/wagon style a square boxy rear end really suits this body well
