Yea, I agree to brake while staying in gear is better. At least that's what my dad taught me 13 years ago haha. I'm trying to change that habit and still go to N when approaching red light without knowing it. This takes time.

I live in Flemington with a lot of traffic lights. I always come across red light and whenever I am preparing to stop, I put my gear to N and just use the brake. Sometimes before breaking but still in N, the lights turn green and I had to switch to 3rd in order to speed again. That makes sense yea?
Yea that's what I've always thought. Never known for sure thoJeffaz said:Actually in neutral you use more fuel than if you were in gear when slowing down because when you're in gear it apparently uses no fuel at all. They did it on top gear once, so don quote me on this.
But even if you're off the accelerator whilst on gear, the revvs are still in the 1-3k range, whereas in neutral it is a minimum like 200rpm or something, so why I thought it would use more fuel.Jeffaz said:Actually in neutral you use more fuel than if you were in gear when slowing down because when you're in gear it apparently uses no fuel at all. This, I do it all the time in paramatta road, if you leave it in gear, you spend more time with your foot on the clutch that not. I just take off from the lights and put it in neutral and coast to the next ones, and wait, then take off, coast and wait, x100

Do I have to plug in both red and white to convert to 3.5mm plug or can I just get a red RCA --> to 3.5mm?
And what's the red and white plugs for? Can I use it for other stuff instead of converting it to 3.5mm plug?
