Headlight Options

Hi guys,

What headlight options are there for Lancer coupes?

So far I know of:
1. Halo (both chrome and black). Unfortunately they look tacky. They should have made them into twin halo lights rather than the single.
2. Blacked out housing 1 piece facelift headlights (these seem to be the best option but the lens glass isn't completely smooth and this shows a lot after they are blacked out)
3. 2 piece headlights with amber turn indicators. I guess this is good for the JDM look but it also makes the car look unnecessarily old in my opinion
4. Standard 1 piece. Good option but gives the front a more "cute" look than aggressive.

Am I missing anything?

eyelids, butchering the housing to maker a custom air ram/box :)

I have to agree the downfall imo to the coupe is the headlights - they are rounded ugly hyundai'ish POS.....I've seen a coupe with a sedan front end conversion, which i will be looking in to down the track.

I run the angel eyes/ projectors with eyelids which makes the front end bareable

Mor31,
I don't like the "coudan" look as it is too boxy for a coupe.
The headlights don't look horrible but it is that cuteness that gets to me. I have eyelids too which help a lot but I am over them + I want to take the bodykit off and they will look out of place by themselves

Check out this coupe; sexy as sh*t, the body kit is a bit OTT though

Spetz, i would go for your option 2 . black out the face areas so the main heads and indicators look seperate and not just a total chrome look. cheapest way out.

Man im totally the opposite, i dispise the sedan lights and think the coupe is so much better

projector refit

x2, if your keen do a full custom job
set 2 projectors per casing, keep them stainless or paint them black how u want, give them yellow or white halos, whether to have induction grill or not, hid kelvin rating or halogens etc.
it will be a big muck around but the end result of a custom job well done is worth it (if it works)

i know eventually once i have sorted stuff be making a mk.2 retro fit and going all out, and it'll be very custom, basically the best of everything
and it is very rewarding for you and your build, you get massive sense of acomplishment, and your build turns into something memorable and more unique

Bumping old thread.

Does anyone know where I can find some jdm headlights for CE coupe? I quite like the orange front indicators.

i think morel has a set from memory 1 has a screw driver hole through it, wonder how that happened?

You have to buy the 2 piece headlight and amber corners.
You can fine crystal 2 piece as well

Ok having had a look at the pricing... fk that.

US = more for postage than for lights
Aust = can get two piece headlights brand new but amber corners cost like $100 second hand from like Malaysia or something.

Totally not worth it. Money better spent under the bonnet IMO.

Well for me I have the 1 piece headlights but had eyelids on them and no longer want the eyelids and there is markings where they used to be.
So I will be changing headlights regardless hence my interest in what I can do rather than put stocks ones on

You can get projectors for fairly cheap ($100 ish) in the US but then easily need to add another $100-150 for postage. So thats one option if it still works out cheaper than Aus.

I'm not sure I like the projectors to be honest. They look a bit stupid with just one projector and those stupid rib looking lights on each side too.

Does anyone know if the projector clear cover fits the OEM 1 piece lights?
