Handbrake cable (drum) details.

Hey,

If anyone has a set of handbrake cables for rear drums laying around or watever, could you please measure the diameter of the end crimp from vertex to vertex like shown in the picture below.

EDIT: Could you also please measure the thickness of the cable itself (not the spring, rubber sleeve but the physical cable that slides inside), and also the length of the hexagon crimp on the end.

I could go pull my drums off and measure but hoping someone has a spare set to save me an hour.
 
metal cable with its wax like coating is 3.78mm for the cable from cc lancer glxi
have to go pull the spare apart for the other
 
Do you need a set of these cables as i just put a set in the bin today that are perfect condition yours if you want them for that matter if anybody needs the drums or arm or anything to do with the drums they can have them. Even have a set of standard front calipers that need to go.

nar there coupe ones don't know how different they are but i'll get them out later and measure the ends up for you.
Have you priced them from mitusbishi as the proton ones i just got only cost $70 per side for the disc's
 
I actually have a set on the wagon atm, im just designing a few parts for a rear disc conversion and need the dimensions so i can build around it. I dont need the cables, but i figured if they were going in the bin it could help me design them without removing mine off the car.

Did you buy handbrake cables from proton for $140/pair?
 
yer ive seen that, thanks. Im mainly just after the diamater and length of the end hexagon, and the diameter of the cable.

the part for the glxi is not hex shaped at all.
it starts off round tube, which they have filed(very rough mold) in to a square and the cable extends out the back of the metal by about 2mm.

adapters will be a good thing.
I throw a lot of the CE drum cables in the bin.
I might have some you can have to do your thing.
