Ok im really f****** *poo*ty atm !
i just replaced my timing belt on my lancer.. me and a mate did it, all timing was put into place and everything was 100% we do it almost everyday at work..

before we fit everything back on we started it and made sure everything was sweet etc etc..
put it all back together changed oil etc etc turned the car on and still car idling perfect and sounding nice with the new timing belt on.
heres where *poo* goes down..
drove it out of the drive way and took it for a spin down the road, all was good until  the car started cutting out and jolting like it was miss firing or something and the engine light turned on, so i turned the car off and back on then the problem was gone, drove off and bam, sh*ts itself and starts idling like shiz. turned it off and back on, accelerated a little hard and no problem, came to a stop and eased on the accelerator and at about 2000 - 3000rpm the car would start cutting out and engine light will stay on ONLY when i go on the accelerator easy, when i give it a little hard i have no problem at all, and problem goes when the car is turned off and back on until i accelerate really slow !! its eating my brains out, and another thing, i unplugged the airflow meter and problem doesnt happen at all :S, BUT the car is all sweet on idle and driving a little hard, once i give it slow it starts idling like ive got a 26b PP or something real rough, now i thought it would be the timing but car idles sweet ? and timing doesnt bring engine lights, could it be crank angle sensor ?

HELLPP !!

Id nearly guarntee your crank angle sensor, couple of years back got my timing belt done on my old MR and when the mech put it back together they left the cas wire sitting on the alt belt. Easter morning at 5am on way to work my car did the something as yours as the belt cut through the wireand *poo* its self completely . Then had to get my wife out of bed and kids who where 1 & 2 @ the time to come take me to work and when i pushed it up a hill into the servo the side skirt grabbed my work boot twisted my foot and broke my 2 biggest toes. lol what a f#@k up day that was and yes i ripped shreds off the mech and made him foot the whole towing cost everything and no i don't go to him anymore.
Lol wow sorry for the rant must still have some pent up anger about that was Haha.

looool i wouldda killed him haha, yee i think its the crank sensor i just dont get why, im 100% that its not coming into contact with anything, i get real picky when it comes to stuff like that, its driving me crazy ! and come to think of it, i dont think itl show up on a scan coz the engine light doesnt stay on, only at soft throttle

Not to sure mine was obv cause i could see it sliced sitting on the belt, hopefully you don't have to pull all that stuff back off to check it but its sounding like ...

yeah sounds like it could be that, I would also look at timing, could be possible for the tension pulley could of slipped slightly... I think it goes for each tooth that you are out of alignment is equal to 10* which could be enough to put timing out and would not be really noticeable at idle but with more revs/throttle that problem becomes more amplified...
if it was the crank sensor you have to remove it not sure if you need to remove or undo the sensor (been a while since I did this)

all good now, timing was out, didnt realise the belt moves when tensioned haha... thanks boys
