FUEL guage

okay well i was playing around with me cluster and i moved the fuel guage , when i was putting it back in i put it back to what it was
if it was off, will it go back to its origonal level or will it stay off, like the wrong levels
or am i just being an idiot thinking this ??

yes and no

i made a thread about this problem a little while ago
if you didnt reset your fuel gauge properly, it will still go up and down, but it will NOT display the correct ammount of fuel...

best thing to do is either disconnect the tank sensor and re position the needle, or fill up the tank entirely and reset the needle

because i messed with my needle, my 'empty fuel' light didnt work, so i didnt know when i was out of fuel and had to figure it all out the hard way, have a search for the thread, it has a few different testing methods in it

thanks cesario, yeah i i sorta found out because i was filling my car up and i new it wa no where full but the pump clicked but i kept it going annnnnnd petrol went everywhere
