Exterior trim/seal replacement

As most of you would have seen, the seals on the rear side windows of the coupe love to harden and crack and end up looking like crap. Someone on here removed them and did a floating look, but unsure how that went in terms of sealing from water.
1. What are replacement options/refurbishment possibilties.

Second is the trim that runs up the front windscreen, across the side of the roof and down the rear window hardens and flakes off exposing a shiny chrome underneath.
2.Does the stealership sell a replacement and at what cost

Was talking to chowetime week ago and we thought it might be worth trying to remove the black layer and just applying black vinyl over the weird chrome layer. In removing the trim, those weird ass clips have started to disentegrate.
3. Are those clips a 'standard' sort of clip and can i get than at repco, supercheap etc etc

This is Cesario's territory, he nearly wet his pants and the wreckers yesterday when he saw all these trim clips etc.

I know for the CC's you can score the seal replacements etc from Proton for cheap (Proton Gen1 =CC lancers) but im not sure if theres a proton that shares with CE.

I heard that if you remove the cracked seal to give it a 'floating' look, it should be fine as there is another seal underneath that which will keep it watertight. Not 100% sure tho as I haven't removed mine. I personally wouldn't do it as gunk will get in there and probably eventually wear out the seal underneath. Then you'll create a bigger problem.
For the shiny chrome exposing itself, you could do what MCM did and use a texta to colour it in BLAAAAACK

clips are easy to find at the wreckers, i think i got enough to do my car 5x over :p
but ima call them 'spares' ;)

best iv seen for keeping them looking good is vinyl wrapping them, dont use a texta it looks like ass (iv tried) but iv taped them up and sprayed them before and they came up mint

im not too sure how to get all the clips off the car with out breaking them, but thats why i have spares,

getting the rear windows resealed is not that expensive especially if you do most of the work yourself I think last time it cost $70 to get them reinstalled and they came to my place to do the work.

To remove the seal you actually need to remove the window.. so remove the rear interior the plastic pieces... remove the outside seal - just pulls out will need to get a sharp knike to help cut it out, then get on the inside of the car and run a knife around between the glass and the metal of the car to remove the huge amount of sealant... once you have removed it all clean it up as much as possible being careful that you do not cut into paint and metal if you do paint it with anything to seal it for air and moisture.. then you should be good to go -

I would think that the total time to do this will take about 2 hours and that is including removing interior
