Exhaust popping on deceeration

My cat-back system pops when I take my foot off the accelerator... It's awesome :) It's all custom though and has a resonator so I don't know how...
 
extractors + hi flo cat + cat-back to single performance muffler = pops
 
All of the above reasons work; majority of the time, on EFI cars, it tends to be the owner making a major difference to the restriction of the exhaust. As Res says above, no back-pressure = pops.

@Ryan have you thought to just add a CEL eliminator, or a wayne angle?

you could use this on a stock mid-pipe, or just get them to weld in a 1" dia pipe with bend to get the sensor out of the main flow.

Yeah saw those before, but couldn't be bothered...I'll probably eventually just ditch the stock cat and get the bit of pipe welded on as you mentioned.....
 
mine pops a little bit, its not too loud but you can still hear it. second page of the exhaust thread you can hear it there.
 
Tegra will back fire louder and more because it was probably decelerating off vtec
 
Advancing the timing will probably make it pop less, as it will spark earlier and allow longer burn time and make it more complete.

but by that mean, dont go retard the fk out of ur timing as its not all in the timing

free flowing zorst and a agressive tune and or a lumpy cam will get u some nice pops
start with the zorst tho as it is cheap and allround helper
 
if you liked that then you should have heard my magna....no mufflers with a shotgun pipe out the back....sounded like a gun shot when i wanted it too :D was so awesome being able to control the noises it made simply by breathing on the accelarator when the revs were up high but i was slowing down for traffic lights etc
 
It's just back-crackle. All the boys try and get it on their commies here.
My lancer never used to do it until I had a res put in. 2in cat back, 12in res, cannon, all I need to do is tap the throttle when down shifting and hit the right rpm range for the gear. like 2.5k at 40km into second. Or just tap it in second at 3k...
 
^^ yea i think is has been mentioned that exhaust vids need uploading, but theres no problem making sure that saying exhaust vids need uploading again just in case anyone missed it before when exhaust vids need uploading was said.
